Ignite Imaginations and the University of Sheffield are looking to volunteers (aged 50+) to take part in a research study on audiobooks and well-being.
What is involved in the study? The study will provide people with the opportunity to listen to an audiobook for free (we'll provide the book and MP3 player) over 1 month. Volunteers will be asked to report on their well-being and tell us what they think about their audiobook - this will be with paper questionnaires. They would need to be able to attend a short session with a member of our research team so they can select their audiobook and answer some questions. This can be done at the volunteers convenience. Sessions are usually held in Cathedral Court in the Sheffield town centre but we can arrange another location if easier.
Benefits of taking part? Volunteers will be provided with a £10 Love2Shop voucher as a thank you and will really be helping us with important research on arts and well-being! We will also be holding a celebration event to tell people about the results which volunteers would be invited to.
Please contact Giulia (pronounced 'Julia') on email here or on 0114 222 6544.
Who is the study run by? The study is being run by the University of Sheffield Department of Psychology. It is a collaboration with Sheffield Arts charity, Ignite Imaginations. Our project is funded by an Arts Council England scheme and we are the only team representing the north of the country.
